BPE Engine Pulleys & Dampers

Do you have bent, broke, or just can't find the correct Chrysler Pulleys to complete your project vehicle?  Well once again, Bouchillon Performance Engineering Department has solved your problems.  In a major undertaking, we have manufactured reproduction pulleys of the original Chrysler styles and are now available for all the popular applications, including all Big Block combinations, with or without power steering or air conditioning.  We also make Small Block Pulleys, with aluminum water pump, with or without power steering.  Also available are Power Steering Pulleys for Saginaw power steering pumps on B/RB/Hemi Applications.  All pulleys are available individually or at an additional 5% savings in Pulley Sets. Choose Black Satin Finish, just like originals, or Chrome!

Always Clean Mounting Surfaces for Pulleys to be Installed. Pulleys should be a Firm Fit.

Make Sure Harmonic Balancer Centering Ring is Free of Rust, Dings & Paint. Its is not

unusual to use a small file on centering ring on Original or Reused Balancers.

Always Check Pulley Alignment Visually, Keep in Mind, There are a Lot of Items that Can

Cause Pulley Misalignment. Water Pump assembly - Timing Cover – Installation

of Crank Gear onto Crankshaft – Harmonic Damper Not Installed Correctly.

Pulley Alignment Can be Corrected, GENERALLY, by Shimming Pulley or Bracket

with Brass Shim Stock. Pulley Alignment Within 1/16” on Pulleys that Are Close

Are Acceptable. Pulleys that Are far apart, 1/8”-1/4” is Acceptable.

Power Steering Pulleys are Different From A-Engine to B/RB/Hemi Engines

Applications. This Also Includes There Mounting Brackets ’70-Later. A-Engines Can

Use BPE9016 or BPE9017 P.S. Pulleys Along w/ BPE9040 Bracket Spacer Kit, either

using Factory P.S. Brackets or BPE9014.

When Changing From A.C. to Non-A.C. Pulleys or Vica Versa, Alternator Mounting

Brackets are different on both A-Engines & B/RB/Hemi Engines.


Aftermarket performance dampers may cause pulley misalignment.  Refer to "Pulley Fit Specification

Picture & Dimensions"

Chrome Finishes require regular cleaning maintenance to resist chrome finish

damage due to the elements.

A Engine Pulley Will Fit Magnum Crate Engines or Magnum Engines using Pre-'92 A-engine

Timing Cover and Pre-'92 A-engine Aluminum Water Pump. Will not fit fuel injected Magnum engines.

Crankshaft Pulleys will not work with original Street Hemi "Thick Production

Style" Dampeners.

9016,9016C,9017 & 9017C are designed to work on B/RB/Hemi Engines with Saginaw Pumps

Only, but can be used on ’70-later A-Engines using BPE9040 Spacer & Bolt Kit.

We Do Not manufacture any Pulleys that will work on '69 & Earlier A-Engines with Cast

Iron Water Pump.

Saginaw Power Steering Pumps all have pressure ports located on the rear, lower section

of the pump. Federal Thompson pumps have the pressure port located in the front

and on the driver’s side of the pump.

You Can Not Mix and Match Factory A/C Pulleys with Non-A/C Pulleys. Alternator

Mounting Brackets are also Different From Non-A/C to A/C Engines. BPE4014 or BPE4015 WILL

NOT WORK WITH 3 Groove or 4 Groove Crank Pulleys. BPE 4016 WILL NOT WORK


When Removing A/C, you can not just install pulleys, you Must Replace CrankShaft

Pulley & Water Pump Pulley Along with Alternator Mounting Bracket, When Installing

A/C, You Must Replace CrankShaft Pulley & Water Pump Pulley Along With

Alternator Mounting Bracket.

When Using BPE 4016 Double Groove Water Pump Pulley along with BPE4013 4 Groove

CrankShaft Pulley For B/RB/Hemi Crate Engines with A/C, You can elect not to use Original

Water Pump Belt Idler Pulley & Bracket, Only Using a 3 Belt System. Leaving Outer Crank Pulley

& Outer Water Pump Pulley Groove Vacant.

All Pulleys & Bracketry By BPE Are Designed To Work With Standard Style Chrysler

Alternators only. High Amperage Output Versions Original Style Alternators Are Available

from BPE, Most Having Idle (1,000RPM) Output Of 55Amps and Output 90-95Amps at 2,500RPM.




Attention: Read This Important BPE Pulley Information

BPE Reproduction Pulleys are stamped steel, just like the originals manufactured by Chrysler.

As in all Stamped Steel Pulleys, Including The Originals by Chrysler, Pulley Concentricity (Roundness)

May Vary .020” - .070” (Up to Approximately 1/16”). This Does Not Effect The Ability Of the

Pulley to Run True and Retain Its Belt Throughout the Power Band Of the Engine.
